Helmets, sorted by the certification on the shell.
Every helmet here is ranked by the DOT, ECE 22.06, Snell and SHARP marks it actually carries — not the badge on the box. Live, date-stamped prices. And the one thing other reviews skip: when the US version isn't the ECE 22.06 you read about, we say so.

The difference
What we do that the others don't
Certification in the first column
Every ranking leads with the DOT, ECE 22.06, Snell and SHARP marks on the shell — cited to the standards body or the manufacturer's homologation. Most roundups omit this entirely. It is the only objective safety information you get before you crash.
We flag the US-vs-Europe trap
The glowing ECE 22.06 review you read may be of a helmet sold in the US as a DOT or Snell build — sometimes under a different name. We tell you which mark is actually on the US box, every time.
Prices that are actually live
Every price comes from Amazon's API, stamped with the date we checked it. If our data is more than 48 hours old, the number disappears and the button says "Check price" — it never shows you a figure that has rotted.
We do not crash-test helmets
And we won't write "in our testing" as though we do. We compile published specs, cite other people's lab data (including SHARP) by name, and tell you plainly when we couldn't verify something.

How this is funded
We earn a commission. Here's exactly how that works.
Visor & Vent is funded by the Amazon Associates program. When you buy through one of our links we earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. No manufacturer pays us for placement, no brand sends us helmets, and a commission has never changed a ranking — which is why you'll find a $250 budget helmet out-certifying a $950 flagship on this site, and we say so plainly.
